3 takeaways from the Utah Jazz’s 99-94 win over the Boston Celtics

SALT LAKE CITY — A little over a week after a loss to Boston extended a Utah losing streak to four games, the Jazz extended their current winning streak to four games by beating the Celtics 99-94 at TD Garden in Boston on Friday night.

Here are three takeaways that defined the game:

  • Utah (40-22) shot a scorching 60.5% from the field in the first half to build a 62-49 lead at the break after trailing by 11 early. The Jazz cooled down significantly in the second half but still outshot the Celtics 45% to 37.2% from the field. It was a rough shooting night for Boston — Kemba Walker shot 5 of 17 from the field, Jayson Tatum was 7 of 19 and Marcus Smart was 9 of 23.
  • Utah gained a significant edge from long range, hitting 17 of 45 3-pointers, including 13 of 21 in the first half. Mike Conley, who scored a team-high 25 points for the Jazz and also had five assists, three rebounds and three steals, hit 6 of 10 3-pointers. Boston (42-20), meanwhile, was 10 of 36 from 3-point range.
  • Jordan Clarkson also had double-figure points (17) for Utah and Donovan Mitchell added 11, as the Jazz got 39 points off the bench and nine players scored six points or more.
